The Railway Ministry on Wednesday 21 February 2024 announced that the Kasaragod- Thiruvananthapuram- Kasaragod train (Train number 20631/632) Vande Bharat Express will now be extended to Mangalore Central. 

The train will operate six days a week except for Wednesdays.

Train number 20631 will leave Central at 6:15 am, and will reach Kasargod at the timing of 7:00 am and Thiruvananthapuram at 3:05 pm, taking 8.5 hours with halts to cover the distance. 

, train number 20632 on the return journey will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 4:05 pm, reach Kasargod at 11:45 pm and then reach Mangaluru Central at 12:40 am taking 8.35 hours to cover the journey. 

Dakshina Kannada MP, Navin Kumar Kateel had requested the Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw to extend the Kasaragod- Thiruvananthapuram- Kasaragod train Vande Bharat Express to extend till Mangalore Central. Following this, the request was being considered and accepted. 

On his request being accepted by the Railway minister, he thanked her for the same. 

The Kasaragod- Thiruvananthapuram- Kasaragod train will halt at Karasgod, Kannur, Kozhikode main, Thirur, Shornur, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Kollam.
