Traffic Changes In Pune For Ganesh Festival
In preparation for the Ganeshotsav and idol purchases, significant traffic adjustments have been implemented in central Pune for three days. Police Inspector Amol Zende has advised drivers to use alternative routes.
The areas affected include the stretch from Dengle Bridge to Shivaji Bridge, in front of Shramik Bhavan (Anna Bhau Sathe Chowk), and from Kasba Peth Police Chowky to Jijamata Chowk. Other impacted areas are Mandai and Savarkar Statue Chowk to Samadhan Bhel Center (Sinhagad road). Traffic changes will be in effect from September 5 to 7, between 6 AM and 12 AM.
Temporary stalls for idol sales have been set up in the area around Savarkar Statue Chowk to Samadhan Bhel Center (Sinhagad road) . Drivers are advised not to park in this region.
In Mundhwa’s Keshav Nagar area, traffic modifications are in place due to high crowds. Shivaji Road, from Gadgil Statue Chowk to Mandai, will be closed to traffic. Drivers should use alternative routes: From Gadgil Statue Chowk, turn left to Kumbharwada Chowk via Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk. From Shivajinagar, drivers should take S. Go. Barve Chowk (Modern Cafe Chowk), Jungli Maharaj Road, Khandujibaba Chowk, and Tilak Road to reach their destinations.
Other open routes include:Â
- – From Phadke Haud Chowk to Jijamata Chowk and Footka Buruj Chowk.
- – From Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk and Moti Chowk.
- – From Mangal Chitrapatghri to Kumbharwada.
Parking is allowed at:
- – One side of Ny. Ranade Path, from Kamgar Statue Chowk to Shivaji Statue Chowk.
- – Both sides of Veer Santaji Ghorpade Path, from Municipal Electricity Center to Gadgil Statue Chowk.
- – Riverbed road between Tilak Bridge and Bhide Bridge.
- – Minerva and Aryan vehicle parking in Mandai.
PMP bus routes have also been adjusted. Buses to Swargate will now travel via S. Go. Barve Chowk, Jungli Maharaj Road, and Tilak Road.
