Traffic congestion due to frequent VIP movement at Pune airport irks flyers

Pune airport flyers have taken it to X & expressed the inconvenience & issues caused due to frequent VIP movements, traffic problems at airport, continuous honking and more.

The inconvenience has increased since flights are seeing delays frequently due to weather conditions and also technical issues.  

An X user writes “Saw the Hon Minister’s photo op video taking people to task for dust on random surfaces of the Pune Airport. Hope you have a mouthful reserved for those behind the obnoxious aeromall with traffic snarls, incessant honking and gross traveler inconvenience!”

Another X user said “Almost missed the flight because of ministers arriving at airport and their photoshoots. Pune airport.”

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Dhairyashil Vandekar, Civil Aviation Expert, said “Because of the congested roads leading to Pune Airport, it’s a great struggle for the passengers to reach the airport. After the reaching the airport, when they encounter such rush, it is definitely very frustrating for them. So, it is important that the Airports Authority of India (AAI), who is managing the airport, must ensure that the normal/regular passengers are not inconvenienced because of the VIP movements at the airport. They should have different arrangements in place for the VIPs/VVIPs which will not cause inconvenience for other passengers.”
