Tragic Accident in Pune: 11-Year-Old Boy Crushed Under Dumper In Kharadi, Driver Arrested
Pune: 23-Year-Old Female Engineering Student Crushed to Death by PMC Garbage Truck in Lohegaon
Kharadi, May 19, 2025: An 11-year-old boy, Anshuman Anupkumar Gaikwad, tragically lost his life in a road accident in Pune’s Kharadi area on Saturday. The incident took place when the bike he was riding pillion on collided with a dumper truck near the Zensar Company premises.
The child, a resident of Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, was reportedly on his way to tuition when the mishap occurred. He was riding with Tanmayi (23), who was operating the two-wheeler. According to police, Tanmayi failed to notice a speed bump and lost control while braking suddenly, resulting in a collision with the dumper from behind.
While Tanmayi sustained injuries in the crash, young Anshuman was thrown off the vehicle and came under the wheels of the dumper, dying on the spot.
Following the accident, the dumper driver, Rajaram Dayaram Rathod (48), a resident of Vadgaon Sheri, was arrested by Kharadi Police. A complaint in the matter was registered by Tanmayi Rathod at Kharadi Police Station.
Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Chavan confirmed the arrest and stated that further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
