‘Unnati Mahila Ratna Award’ presented to inspiring women

Women from various fields were honoured with “Unnati Mahila Ratna” award by Pimple Saudagar based Unnati Social Foundation. 

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Kunda Bhise, President of Unnati Social Foundation, honoured women from various parts of the city with “Unnati Mahila Ratna” award at ‘Rajmata Jijau Udyan’ in Pimple Saudagar.

The program started with the lighting of lamps by Brahmakumari Varsha, Sub-Inspector of Police Kavita Rupanawar and social activist Sharada Munde. At this time, tribute was also paid to the late Lata Mangeshkar by singing songs in her memory.

The main attraction of the program was “Majhi Tujhi Reshim Gath’ fame actress Prarthana Behere, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame Ajit Vispute, famous playback singer Radhika Atre, Kathak dancer Priya Birari and concept presenter Shobha Kulkarni who were present. 

“Kunda Bhise, an efficient social worker, has been working for the last several years to provide a platform to the women of Pimple Saudagar. That is why the scope of their work is expanding day by day. Their journey has started with the goal of economic, socio-cultural upliftment of women.  Their never ending work should be supported by the residents of Pimple Saudagar and should vote for them in large numbers,” said Ashwini Laxman Jagtap.  

Actress Prarthana Behere said, ‘Only women know the true significance of Women’s Day. Today’s woman is truly self-sufficient by overcoming the good and bad experiences and crises that come while working in various fields. But for this, someone has to put hand on her back. Kunda Bhise always extended a helping hand to women. That is why women in Pimple Saudagar are seen to be empowered today. Her work is truly admirable.”

Kunda Bhise said, “International Women’s Day is celebrated to commemorate the progress made by women in various fields such as sociology, politics and others in terms of women’s dignity. However, now everyone must come forward to protect the rights of women. I will continue to take the oath of women’s empowerment through Unnati Social Foundation.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Prajakta Nagre, teacher Usha Bhardwaj, communalist Varsha, journalist Madhuri Korad, Postwoman Varsha Jadhav, cleaner Jyoti Sringare, artist Meenal Godse, housewife Surekha Alte, transgender Devika Suryavanshi, women players who have done remarkable work in various fields, were honoured with ‘Unnati Ratna Award’.

Ten lakh insurance was taken out for cleaning and housework workers. A special lucky draw for women was arranged, 11 attractive different coloured paithani sarees were gifted to women.
