Pune, August 30, 2024 – The deteriorating state of several key roads in Pune Cantonment Board jurisdiction has raised serious concerns among residents and commuters, who are urging immediate intervention by the relevant authorities. These roads, which are vital for daily travel, have become hazardous due to poor maintenance and inadequate repairs.

One of the most critical areas is the road adjacent to Hindustani Church, which connects to the Pune-Solapur Highway. This road is heavily used by thousands of commuters daily, yet it remains in a deplorable condition, making travel difficult and unsafe.

Similarly, the road near the Southern Command Officers Mess is in dire need of repair. This stretch, which is frequented by both civilian and military personnel, is riddled with potholes and uneven surfaces, increasing the risk of accidents.

Another troubling area is the road leading to Holywood Gurudwara and the stretch beyond the Gurudwara. The surface is severely damaged, making it particularly dangerous for two-wheeler riders.

Of particular concern is the patchwork done on the road from the Race Course to the ISKCON temple ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit to Pune. The temporary repairs have not held up, and the road has lost its tar layer, exposing gravel and creating a perilous situation for commuters.

Local residents are calling on the concerned departments to take immediate action to repair these roads and ensure the safety of all who travel on them. The current state of these roads is not just an inconvenience but a significant safety hazard.
