Use of cameras prohibited in 2 km radius of G20 working committee venues

Raja Ramaswami, deputy commissioner of Police, Special Branch has issued an order stating that use of drone cameras will be prohibited in 2 km radius of G20 working committee group venues from January 10 to 20.

Over 200 delegates and 15 global organisations will be attending the G20 meetings in Pune city on January 16 and 17.

Pune City Police on January 2, 2023 issued an order stating that use of drone cameras from January 10 to 20 will remain prohibited in a 2 km radius of Senapati Bapat road and Savitribai Phule Pune University. The delegates attending the meeting would be staying at J W Marriott Hotel on Senapati Bapat road. These guests will attend various meetings to be held at SPPU and other venues.

The order stated, “There are high chances of anti-social elements using drone cameras to disturb law and order. Hence use of drone cameras will be prohibited between January 10 and 20.” 

The order is issued under Section 144, Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 informing that if anyone is found violating the order by using drone camera will  be prosecuted under IPC Section 188, which means disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.
