Indian Railways has successfully completed the final high-speed trial of the indigenously developed Vande Bharat Sleeper Train under the supervision of the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS). The trial was conducted on the Kota–Nagda section, where the 16-coach sleeper rake achieved a top speed of 180 kmph.

According to railway officials, the CRS trial involved comprehensive technical evaluations, including ride stability, oscillation and vibration behaviour, braking performance, emergency braking systems, and onboard safety mechanisms. The train met all prescribed safety and performance benchmarks at high speed, leading to the successful completion of the trial.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the trial on social media, showing the train running at 180 kmph on the Kota–Nagda stretch. The footage also featured a water-glass stability test, demonstrating minimal vibration as glasses filled with water remained steady during high-speed movement.

Designed for long-distance travel, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train is equipped with sleeper berths, advanced suspension, automatic doors, modern toilet facilities, fire detection and safety monitoring systems, CCTV-based surveillance, and digital passenger information systems.

With the CRS high-speed trial completed, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has moved closer to operational rollout. Further certification and deployment steps are expected to follow as per standard Indian Railways procedures.
