Veterinary doctor from Pune booked for death of pet dog Â
Pune: In a startling turn of events at Pune’s Chaturshrungi Police Station, a routine dog vaccination took a tragic turn, leading to a legal dispute and raising questions about the handling of the situation by two local veterinary doctors.Â
The incident involves the death of a Labrador during a vaccination procedure at Vigs My Pet Clinic on November 17.
The complainant, a 35-year-old woman, took her dog to the clinic for its annual vaccination. Dr. Sanjeev Raj (60) and Dr. Shubham Rajput (35), along with their assistants, were responsible for administering the vaccine. However, a mishap occurred during the process, resulting in the leash tightening around the dog’s neck.
Efforts to control the situation led to the unfortunate strangulation of the dog. In a bid to save the distressed animal, it was rushed into the clinic for immediate treatment. Regrettably, within a mere fifteen minutes, the veterinarians declared the dog’s demise.
Adding to the distress, both doctors left the clinic without providing any explanation or consolation to the grieving owner. This prompted the woman to file a formal complaint at Chaturshrungi Police Station. Subsequently, a case has been registered, and an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has been initiated.
