Wakad: 14 year old bags gold and silver in National Mountain Bike Championship

Adeep Wagh, a 14 year old student and an athlete, a resident of Eden Towers CHS Wakad, has bagged a gold and a silver medal in a National Mountain Bike Championship held in Karnataka from 19 – 21 February.

Adeep Wagh represented Maharashtra by participating in the two categories of the tournament, ITT (Individual Time Trial) 10 km, and Mass start of 15 km, respectively.

On the first day of the competition, Adeep managed to grab a GOLD MEDAL in the Individual Time Trial event by completing the circuit of 10 kms in 30 mins and 21 seconds, while on the second day of the competetion, in the mass start event category, Adeep managed to secure second position in the race by bagging a Silver Medal.

Pune Pulse reached out to applause the efforts of Adeep. While responding, he said, “It is all about practise. Even rocky and a patch full of gravel will look smooth to ride, if you try to enhance your skills through round the clock practice.”

Adeep has been selected to lead the team of Maharashtra in Youth category (U-14), for 25th National Road Cycling Championship 20-21, which is scheduled to be held at Panvel, Navi Mumbai, from 5 to 8 March 2021.
