Kanishk Jain, a boy from Maxima Society, Wakad, has won a gold medal for India for exceptional performance in theoretical exam in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2023 held in Thailand on 1st to 10th December 2023.

As per further information, Kanishk Jain won Gold medal and an accolade for exceptional performance in theoretical exam for India in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2023. The IJSO 2023 was held in Thailand from December 1st to 10th and attracted the participation of 304 contestants from 54 countries and territories.

The IJSO competition consists of 5 stages. Level 1 and Level 2 are MCQ and Theoretical paper based examination. Top 36 students from India are selected to participate in Level 3 which is a residence based programme which includes MCQ, Theory and Group Practical based assessment to select 6 students to represent India at international level. Emphasis is laid on developing conceptual foundations and problem-solving skills. Students are exposed to innovative experiments with focus on conceptual and procedural understanding in experimental science. Level 4 is Pre departure training camp where selected Indian team undergo training programme in theory and experiment prior to their departure for Level 5 which was held in Thailand this year. All the 5 levels are spanned across one year, level 1 was conducted in November 2022 and Level 5 in December 2023.

His team stood first in PhysicsBrawlOnline competition in 2023.

Physics Brawl Online is a non-profit three-hour-long team competition for anyone with an interest in physics. Teams of up to five competitors are trying to solve as many physics problems as possible in a given time limit of three hours in a fierce competition of hundreds of teams from all around the world.

Kanishk has earned a Gold medal and a Silver medal in 9th and 6th grades respectively and the title of Junior Scientist in the Nationwide Dr Homi Bhabha Balvaidyanik Competition.

He has also been offered admission to Stanford Pre-Collegiate University level online Maths and Physics program in 2021 and 2023.

He won 1st prize among 1 lakh students in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) at National Level after 3 rigorous rounds at district, state and national levels.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an institution under the Ministry of Education.

He has many other National and International accolades, like Gold award in Singapore and Asian Math Olympiad and Hong-Kong International Science Oympiad, LogiQids, ASSET, Purple Comet etc.
