The refreshed mid-SUV gets a bold new look, a panoramic sunroof, upgraded cabin tech and improved safety ahead of its India premiere.

Kia India has released the first official teaser of the all-new Seltos, confirming that the SUV will make its global debut on December 10. The teaser gives a clear preview of the SUV’s redesigned face and several major changes expected in this new generation upgrade. The Seltos, already one of India’s most popular mid-size SUVs, now appears to be moving towards a more premium, sharper and more rugged design language.

The front fascia shows the biggest transformation. The new Seltos gets a rectangular grille with vertical elements, a tall split headlamp setup and vertical LED DRLs on the edges. The square housing for the main headlamps makes the SUV look wider and more muscular. The bonnet appears flatter, giving the vehicle a strong, boxy road presence. The model shown in the teaser is finished in matte black, hinting that the X-Line trim will be available from launch.

Kia has also confirmed new flush-type door handles, fresh alloy wheel designs and C-shaped connected LED tail-lamps at the rear. The styling details resemble the Carens Clavis design direction, signalling a more modern and youthful character for the new model. A panoramic sunroof is now part of the package, making it the first Seltos variant to offer the feature across the range.

Inside, the SUV is expected to receive one of the biggest cabin upgrades in this segment. Dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a powered passenger seat with boss mode, ventilated rear seats and a powered tailgate are anticipated. Kia will also continue features like dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging and the Bose sound system. Enhanced connected-car tech with support for OTA updates is also likely.

The safety package is expected to get stronger with an upgraded Level 2 ADAS system, 360-degree camera, six airbags, ESC, hill-start assist and all-wheel disc brakes. These changes aim to improve both everyday convenience and highway confidence for buyers.

Mechanically, Kia is expected to continue with the current engine lineup. This includes the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel, paired with manual, iMT, IVT and DCT gearbox options. Sources also indicate that a self-charging hybrid variant may be introduced for the first time in India, giving the Seltos a significant technological advantage in the segment.

Gwanggu Lee, MD & CEO of Kia India, said the new Seltos has been “completely reimagined” to meet rising customer expectations and to match global performance standards. The aim is to offer a sharper, more premium, more feature-rich SUV that continues to dominate the mid-SUV space.

The all-new Seltos is expected to be priced between ₹11.30 lakh and ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun and MG Astor. Kia will unveil complete details, variants and pricing on December 10.
