Watch: Anand Mahindra travels Mumbai Coastal Road’s Undersea Tunnel

Anand Mahindra, Mahindra Group Chairman expressed admiration for the newly inaugurated south Mumbai coastal road, sharing a video of his drive through the undersea tunnel. 

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde inaugurated the first phase of the coastal road, named the ‘Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road’ after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The project aims to reduce travel time between Nariman Point in South Mumbai and Kandivali in the suburbs from over 2 hours to less than 40 minutes. 

The undersea tunnel, part of the Mumbai Coastal Road, is a notable feature, and the second phase is expected to be completed by May 2024, with an overall project cost of ₹12,721 crore. Mahindra praised the construction work, stating it was worth the wait and applauding Larsen & Toubro for their efforts in the project.
