Another day, another ‘kalesh’ as short video from crowded coach triggers memes and commentary online
A brief disagreement between a young woman and an elderly passenger inside a crowded Delhi Metro coach has become the latest addition to the internet’s growing archive of “Metro Moments.”
The 10-second video, shared on X, shows the younger commuter gesturing toward the older woman and seemingly asking her to shift or make space on the seat. The clip ends abruptly, leaving the cause of the argument unclear.
The post went viral with the caption, “Kalesh b/w a Girl and Dadi inside Delhi Metro,” prompting a wave of reactions from social media users who compared the Metro to a daily reality show.
Online, many joked that the Delhi Metro has become a “Bigg Boss-like arena,” where every coach acts as the set and commuters unintentionally become participants.

One user wrote, “It has been a daily routine practice in the Delhi Metro.” Another commented, “Delhi Metro is a next-level entertainment adda. You don’t need to go cinema halls to watch a fighting movie, as a real fight is going on in front of your eyes.”
Others pointed out that clashes often arise over seats or perceived rude behaviour. “In the Delhi metro, people never tolerate other people’s nonsense — that’s why clash happens,” one person posted. Another added playfully, “In Delhi Metro, it’s never just a ride, it’s a live reality show. Today’s episode: Grandma vs Girl Express!”
The video now joins a long list of viral clips featuring arguments, push-and-pull moments and unusual antics that frequently turn the Delhi Metro into a centrepiece of online entertainment.
