Wearing masks in school not compulsory, says school education minister

Pune: Varsha Gaikwad, school education minister, Maharashtra has said that wearing masks is compulsory in schools. This announcement comes at a time when schools are reopening for offline classes after two years.

While some schools opened on June 6th, more schools are opening on June 15th.

“The state government is reviewing the COVID situation. As of now, there will be no compulsion about wearing masks. If such a situation arises, then a new operating procedure will be issued,” said Varsha Gaikwad.
