The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a complete shift in weather conditions across Maharashtra, bringing relief from recent unseasonal fluctuations but raising concerns over an impending heatwave.

According to the IMD, weather across the state is expected to remain completely dry on April 30, offering temporary relief from unstable conditions witnessed over the past few days. However, temperatures are set to rise sharply, especially during afternoon hours, with most regions likely to experience intense heat.
Region-Wise Temperature Forecast
Konkan Region:
Minimum temperatures are expected between 24°C and 27°C, while maximum temperatures may range from 33°C to 36°C. High humidity levels along coastal areas will increase discomfort due to sultry conditions.
West Maharashtra (including Pune, Solapur, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli):
Minimum temperatures may range from 21°C to 25°C, while maximum temperatures could soar between 38°C and 41°C, with strong heat impact during the afternoon.
Marathwada Region:
The heat is expected to persist with minimum temperatures between 22°C and 25°C and maximum temperatures reaching 40°C to 43°C. Districts like Beed, Latur, Parbhani, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar are likely to face severe heat conditions.
North Maharashtra:
Minimum temperatures are likely between 22°C and 25°C, with maximum temperatures ranging from 39°C to 42°C. Hot and dry weather will prevail in Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar, and Jalgaon.
Vidarbha Region:
Vidarbha is expected to record the highest temperatures in the state, with minimum temperatures between 24°C and 27°C and maximum temperatures soaring to 42°C to 45°C. Cities like Nagpur, Akola, Amravati, and Chandrapur may experience extreme heatwave conditions.
South Maharashtra:
Minimum temperatures may range from 20°C to 23°C, while maximum temperatures are expected between 35°C and 39°C.
Advisory for Citizens
With stable and dry weather likely to support agricultural activities, the IMD has advised residents to take precautions against rising temperatures. Citizens are urged to:
- Avoid stepping out during peak afternoon hours
- Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water
- Take necessary measures to prevent heatstroke
