Four dams of Pune witness rise by half TMC in water levels

Pune: In the Khadakwasla dam chain, more or less rain started last week. In these four-five days, there has been an increase of half TMC in about four dams.

As per information, Varasgaon dam was releasing 600 cusecs for power generation. Varasgaon Dam was 100 percent full at 12 p.m. till Thursday afternoon (September 21). Out of this, 597 cusecs of water was released from the spillway into the Mose River. A total of one thousand 197 cusecs of water has been released from Varasgaon.

Similarly, 600 cusecs was being released from Panshet Dam for power generation. Panshet Dam is 100 percent full. From this, 683 cusecs of water was released from the spillway into the Ambi River at seven in the evening. A total of one thousand 283 cusecs of water has been released from Panshet. Also, the release of 350 cusecs from the Temghar dam is underway for power generation.

There was light rain in Khadakwasla from six in the morning till five in the evening on Thursday. Two millimeters in Panshet, one in Varasgaon, and five millimeters in Temghar. Meanwhile, Khadakwasla Dam, which finally supplies water to the city today, has 1.12 TMC i.e. 56.82 percent water storage.

10.65 TMC i.e. 100 percent water has accumulated in Panshet. 12.82 TMC of Varasgaon Dam is 100 percent full. Meanwhile, 2.82 TMC i.e. 75.97 percent water storage has accumulated in Temghar Dam. So 27.41 TMC i.e. 94.02 percent of the dam is full in all the four dams.

One thousand 283 cusecs of water have been released from Panshet, a total of one thousand 197 cusecs from Varasgaon, and 350 cusecs from Temghar. Two thousand 820 cusecs of water released from these three dams is stored in Khadakwasla Dam. Whereas 1005 cusec water is being released from Khadakwasla dam for agriculture.
