Pune, January 5, 2025 — The city recorded a single-digit temperature of 9.6°C on Saturday, marking a notable dip after nearly a month of warmer nights with minimum temperatures ranging between 16°C and 19°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the lowest temperature in Maharashtra was observed in Ahmednagar at 7.7°C. Pune’s recent cooling trend comes after moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea had kept minimum temperatures unusually high throughout December.

The experts state that the temperature drop is temporary. From today onwards, minimum temperatures are expected to rise, with dry weather and morning haze likely to dominate for the next 4–5 days,” Sanap stated.

On the other hand, Pune’s daytime maximum temperature remained above normal, recording 31.4°C on Saturday.
