WICCI Sustainability Council holds unique Raksha Bandhan celebration

August 8th Pune: WICCI Sustainable Maharashtra had organised, a one of its kind event, by felicitating the grass root community workers by tying Raksha Bandhan and showing their respect by pledging along with them and by promising to help the swacchata sainiks, in every way for creating a greener and cleaner community. 

The members of the council distributed sweets as a mark of brotherhood with the Janwani workers, and this motivated team of women are all set in creating a sustainable city and are dedicated to create a SWACHH and green Bharat.

This auspicious occasion was attended by 50 plus swacchata sainiks and the Rakhi Abhar event was organised at Pune Cantonment Board. The event was graced by many eminent personalities. The list of esteemed attendees are Nagersevek Atul Gaiwar, DSI Shaikh, Makadam Sanjay. The event was also attended by Aparrnaa Chakraborty, Founder Director of Antarnad Social foundation, Seema Mukherjee, BJP Bengali ladies Aghadi President, Satya Nataraja-social and community worker and WICCI sustainable council felicitated the guests by offering them plants and thanked them for helping in spreading the cause.

On this community event MAnindita Chaudhuri, President of WICCI Sustainable council and the founder of a green brand Ecoserve said that” The purpose of creating a sustainable council is to connect and collaborate with organisations, NGO’S, schools, corporates to bring about significant awareness about sustainability, and create environmental awareness and bring in a meaningful change for creating a sustainable society”.

The WICCI Sustainable council consists of 10 members namely-Alka Singh Vice President, Priya Seetharaman, Neha, Anindita Kharoo, Jissha Nair, Turrnisa Chakraborty, Prajeesha Ranjan and. WICCI Sustainable Mission follows the Five principals of the UN Development Council. They are Climate action, ,Good health and well-being, Quality education, gender equality, and creating Sustainable cities and communities and are planning to do many activities.
