The Ganges, one of India’s holiest rivers, is of great cultural and spiritual importance to the people of India. Millions engage in various rituals along its banks, including bathing in the river to cleanse themselves of sins.

One such tradition involves throwing coins into the river, which represents wishes, prayers, or hopes for divine blessings. This practice has transformed the riverbed into a repository of coin offerings.

Recently, a unique activity has developed along the Ganga’s shores, where people use magnets to retrieve coins that have sunk to the bottom. For some individuals, this coin retrieval has evolved into more than just a hobby; it has become a means of earning a living.
