Pune: With the number of visitors increasing over the weekend at the Sinhagad fort, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has decided to increase the number of buses to 15 on weekends from May 7.

On weekdays, 10 buses are ferrying 102 ferries to and fro. Along with the increase in the number of e-buses, charging points at the base will be increased to three from one.

Since May 1, PMPML and the forest department have started the ebus service and banned the private vehicles on the fort. With summer vacation going on the service has received a very good response.

“The people are appreciating the E-bus service which we have started and as the number goes up on the weekend we have decided to increase the number of buses and charging points at the base of the fort,” said Chetana Kerure, Joint Managing Director of PMPML.

On May 1, i e the inauguration day – 3 buses did 10 ferries and from the next day, 10 buses were introduced which did around 100 ferries during the day.
