150 Cases of Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika Reported in PCMC; Citizens Urged to Take Precautions
As of today, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has reported 122 cases of dengue, 22 cases of chikungunya, and 6 cases of Zika virus. Among these, 4 patients are pregnant women. All the affected patients, whose conditions are stable, have been discharged. The medical department has advised pregnant women to seek immediate consultation if they experience symptoms such as fever, joint pain, or pain behind the eyes, which could be indicative of dengue or Zika.
The medical department has implemented several measures in response to these mosquito-borne diseases. The following statistics represent the actions taken:

– Regular inspections and sampling are ongoing for pregnant women and the general population.
Under the “BEAT Dengue Campaign,” activities were carried out on September 5, 2024, including a cleanup drive in various public and private schools, Anganwadis, and neighborhoods to eliminate mosquito breeding sites. Awareness was spread among students and citizens through social media and pamphlet distribution.
