Six candidates from the state have been elected as Rajya Sabha members. In this, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Medha Kulkarni, Ajit Gopchhade, Ashok Chavan (former Chief Minister) former Congress leader, Shiv Sena’s Milind Deora, Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) Prafull Patel and Indian National Congress’s Chandrakant Handore were elected to the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra.

Elections for 56 Rajya Sabha seats in 15 states were to be held on February 27, 2024. The date for withdrawal of candidature application in the state was 20 February. As six applications were received for the six seats of Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha, these six persons have been selected. 

State Legislature Secretary Jitendra Bhole has informed through a letter that these candidates will be appointed after the expiry of the term of Rajya Sabha members on 2 April 2024.
