Pune: Fire At Shop In Kondhwa, Five Women One Toddler Rescued Safely
Pune – On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at approximately 2:39 PM, the Pune Fire Brigade Control Room received information about a fire breaking out in a shop located at Bhagyoday Nagar, Lane No. 34, Kondhwa Khurd. Responding promptly, two fire engines were dispatched from Kondhwa Khurd and Kondhwa Budruk fire stations.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a blaze originating from two clothing shops on the ground floor of an old three-story building. Acting swiftly, they worked to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the upper floors and nearby areas. Using breathing apparatus (BA sets), the team rescued five women and a three-year-old boy who were trapped on the upper floors amidst thick smoke. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, ensuring no further danger.
The fire caused significant damage, destroying clothes, wooden furniture, electrical equipment, and machinery. While the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, one woman suffered minor burns on her leg, and a firefighter sustained minor injuries to his hand.
Notably, the incident occurred during the young boy’s birthday celebration. The locals praised the firefighters for their timely response and heroic rescue efforts.
The firefighting team included driver Ravindra Hivarkar and personnel Satyam Choukhade, Rafik Shaikh, Kishor Mohite, Yogesh Pisal.
