Ganeshotsav 2025: Pune Metro Records Record-Breaking 3.68 Lakh Passengers In Single Day
Pune Metro Records Highest Ridership Of 5.9 Lakh On Anant Chaturdashi
Pune, September 1, 2025: Pune Metro witnessed an unprecedented passenger surge during this year’s Ganesh Festival, recording a footfall of 3,68,516 commuters in a single day on Saturday.
- Pimpri–Swargate Line (Line 1): 2,01,343 passengers
- Vanaz–Ramwadi Line (Line 2): 1,67,173 passengers
The sharp rise in metro ridership highlights commuters’ growing preference for a cleaner, faster, and air-conditioned travel option compared to PMPML buses, which continue to face challenges such as breakdowns, outdated fleets, high fares, and frequent traffic delays.
