With Diwali around the corner, homes across the country are getting a festive makeover. From stringing up lights to redecorating rooms, every corner gets a special touch. But while we enjoy beautifying our living spaces, there’s one area that demands extra attention – the kitchen.

Especially during Diwali cleaning, we aim to welcome Goddess Lakshmi into a home that’s not just happy, but squeaky clean. As tradition says, she blesses spaces that are neat and pure, so naturally, every shelf, cabinet, and utensil gets scrubbed. But one thing that often feels impossible to clean is the kitchen trolley – bulky, greasy, and difficult to move. If you’ve been putting off cleaning yours just because it’s too much trouble, you’re not alone.

Don’t worry – we’ve come across a clever and simple technique to help you take it out and clean it thoroughly, and it’s easier than you think!

How to Easily Remove Your Kitchen Trolley Without Any Tools

There’s a simple mechanism in most kitchen trolleys that many people don’t notice. On both sides of the trolley, you’ll find two clips – one goes up and the other goes down. Press them gently in their respective directions. You’ll be surprised how effortlessly the trolley slides out!

Once you’ve taken out the first one, use the same method for the remaining sections. Empty the contents and move the trolleys out for cleaning. Using a damp cloth or sponge, wipe down every surface. For stubborn dirt or grease, wash with mild soap.

Also, don’t forget the trolley slots – the area where it’s installed – as that often collects hidden dust and grime. Once everything is dry, you can simply slide the clean trolleys back into place.

Homemade Cleaning Paste for Greasy, Sticky Trolleys

If your trolley feels extra sticky or has grease buildup, especially from oils or spices, this homemade cleaning paste works wonders. Take a bowl and mix:

• One spoon of salt

• One spoon of baking soda

• A few drops of dishwashing liquid

• Some fresh lemon juice

Mix them to form a paste. Apply it using a scrubber to all the greasy or rusted areas of the trolley. It helps break down the oil and lifts stubborn dirt, leaving the trolley surface shining again. If you prefer, a brush can also be used instead of a scrubber – both are effective.

Things to Watch Out For While Cleaning

One important thing to remember: avoid spilling too much water on the trolley. If water seeps into the joints or base, it could lead to rust over time. After washing or wiping it, use a dry cotton cloth to thoroughly remove all moisture.

Never store wet utensils inside the trolley. If you’ve cleaned it with a damp cloth, leave it open for some time so it can dry completely. If your trolley has removable sections or baskets, take them out individually and clean them one at a time.

In humid conditions, it’s a good idea to give the trolley a quick wipe with a dry cloth every day to prevent mold or damp smells from settling in.
