The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for six districts in Maharashtra’s Konkan region, warning of rising temperatures and intensifying heat conditions across the state.

According to the latest forecast for April 11, a noticeable increase in temperature is expected, with several regions likely to experience hot and dry weather, while isolated rainfall may occur in parts of western Maharashtra.

Yellow Alert for Konkan Region

The alert has been issued for key coastal districts including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Palghar, and Sindhudurg.

Maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to range between 32°C and 38°C, prompting authorities to advise residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.

Western Maharashtra: Isolated Rainfall Likely

While no official alert has been issued for western Maharashtra, parts of Satara district may witness light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.

However, cities such as Pune, Sangli, Kolhapur, and Solapur are expected to continue experiencing dry and warm conditions.

North Maharashtra to Remain Dry

Districts including Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar will likely see completely dry weather, with rising daytime temperatures increasing heat stress.

Marathwada Braces for High Temperatures

In the Marathwada region, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Latur, Beed, Parbhani, and Nanded, hot and dry conditions are expected to persist, with temperatures likely to range between 39°C and 42°C.

Vidarbha Faces Severe Heat

The Vidarbha region is expected to experience the most intense heat. Cities such as Nagpur and Amravati, along with districts like Wardha, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli, may record maximum temperatures between 40°C and 45°C.

Advisory for Residents

With temperatures rising across Maharashtra, authorities have urged citizens to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.

Overall, April 11 is expected to bring widespread heat across the state, with only limited relief in isolated areas.
