Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Commissioner Shekhar Singh will be on earned leave until June 28, 2024. During this period, the state government has assigned Rahul Mahival, Commissioner of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority, the additional charge of PCMC Commissioner. This order was issued by the Maharashtra Government’s Urban Development Department.
Commissioner Rahul Mahival held a meeting today at the main administrative building in Pimpri with department heads to review the corporation’s operations. In this meeting, he reviewed the preparations for the Ashadhi Wari Palkhi procession, disaster management, and drainage cleaning, providing various instructions to the concerned officials.
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Vijaykumar Khorate, Ulhas Jagtap, City Engineer Makarand Nikam, Chief Engineer Ramdas Tambe, Joint Commissioner Chandrakant Indalkar, Chief Information and Technology Officer Neelkanth Poman, Chief Security Officer Uday Jarande, Additional Health Medical Officer Dr. Abhaychandra Dadewar, Joint City Engineers Sanjay Khabde, Gnyandev Jundhare, Pramod Ombhase, Manoj Sethia, Ajay Suryavanshi, Deputy Commissioners Vitthal Joshi, Manoj Lonkar, Sandeep Khot, Chief Disaster Management Officer Omprakash Bahival, Special Officer Kiran Gaikwad, Regional Officers Umesh Dhakne, Sitaram Bahure, Assistant Commissioner Yashwant Dange, Executive Engineer Bapusaheb Gaikwad, Vaishali Nanavare, Vijay Waykar, Sandhya Wagh, Prerana Sinkar, Prakash Katore, and Public Relations Officer Prafulla Puranik, along with various department officials.
The Ashadhi Wari Palkhi procession of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj will soon arrive in Pimpri Chinchwad. In preparation for this event, detailed information was gathered on the arrangements and facilities provided to the devotees. Mahival emphasized the importance of ensuring no deficiencies in the facilities for this culturally significant event. He instructed all officials to work in coordination to ensure the procession occurs in a joyous and vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, he stressed that all systems should remain alert for emergency situations and that urgent matters related to the municipal corporation should be addressed promptly. He also highlighted the importance of considering citizens’ issues while providing municipal services and directed all department heads to prioritize these concerns.
