Accident on Pune Bengaluru Highway : 2 trucks fiercely collide near Navale bridge; 2 seriously injured

A terrible accident took place under Navale bridge when 2 trucks collided causing 2 people to get seriously injured. The incident occurred in the wee hours of January 23. 

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Prabhakar Umratkar, Fire Officer, PMC said, “The accident took place under Navale bridge while going from Katraj to Warje side. At 4 am on January 23, a truck fiercely collided with another truck from behind. The impact was so huge that it completely destroyed the entire driver cabin of the front truck. The doors of the truck have been severely damaged. The driver & another person in the impacted truck have been seriously injured in this incident.”

Umratkar further gave information that the truck driver & the other person were stuck inside the truck for some time. The PMC & PMRDA fire officers reached the spot & immediately rescued the 2 persons. The other person in the truck has suffered injuries on his head. Both have been admitted to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment. No casualties have taken place.

Within 15 to 20 minutes, the PMC & PMRDA fire officers cleared the remains of the impacted truck & the vehicular traffic has become normal.
