A private Bombardier Learjet carrying eight people veered off the runway and crashed at Mumbai Airport, with no reported casualties. The incident unfolded at 5:04 pm during heavy rainfall in the city.

The aircraft, operated by VSR Aviation and identified as Learjet 45 VT-DBL, had been flying from Visakhapatnam to Mumbai. It skidded off the runway, specifically taxiway WHISKEY, upon landing, subsequently igniting a fire inside the aircraft.

The plane was occupied by six passengers and two crew members, and fortunately, no VIPs were onboard at the time of the incident.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed the runway excursion, citing visibility of 700 meters due to the downpour. Despite the fiery aftermath of the crash, no casualties have been reported so far.
