Central Railway’s woes continue as another incident has brought train traffic to a halt in the scorching summer heat. Yet again, disruption struck the Central Railway network due to a pantograph breaking incident between Kalyan and Thakurli railway stations, causing significant inconvenience to commuters.

The disruption occurred when the pantagraph of a local train traveling from Mumbai to Kalyan broke, damaging the overhead wire in the process. As a result, the express route of Central Railway from Mumbai to Kalyan was affected, leading to disruptions in train services and impacting traffic on the Mumbai-bound expressway.

Railway authorities swiftly responded by attaching an engine to the affected local train’s broken pantagraph and transporting it to Kalyan station. Meanwhile, train traffic on the fast track was diverted to the slow track to alleviate congestion.

Repair work is currently underway by railway personnel, and it is estimated that normal traffic flow will resume within an hour. Fortunately, traffic towards Mumbai remains unaffected by the incident.

This peculiar incident comes just two days after a similar disruption occurred between Thakurli and Kalyan railway stations. The recurrence of pantagraph breakages highlights the challenges faced by Central Railway in maintaining smooth operations, leading to disruptions in local train schedules and inconveniencing commuters.

As authorities work diligently to restore normalcy, commuters are urged to stay updated on the situation and plan their journeys accordingly, considering possible delays and diversions in train services.
