Cheti Chand, new year of the Sindhi community will be celebrated on April 2 at Alpa Bachat Bhavan near Queens Garden near Residency Club, Pune. This year also marks the 1072th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Sai Jhulelal informed Suresh Jethwani & Deepak Wadhavani, past president of Sindhu Seva Dal (SSD) in the press conference held recently.

The media briefing was also attended by Sachin Talreja, Secretary of SSD & Kiran Ferwani, PRO of SSD

Sindhu Seva Dal is a non political, social and cultural organisation established for Sindhi’s living in Pune and its outskirts formed about 34 years back.

“Our aim is for a better social and cultural platform which provides an opportunity to Sindhi Community living in Pune to utilize their expertise, experience and skill, for building up a prosperous Sindhi Community through advocacy and capacity building to make Sindhi community self-sufficient,” mentioned Suresh Jethwani.

Sindhu Seva Dal provides a platform to promote Sindhi Culture and language and preserve Sindhi heritage and also to promote awareness of social problems of Sindhi Community. Every year Cheti Chand (Sindhi New Year) is celebrated in a grand scale where about 4000 Sindhi’s gather for this cultural extravanza.

Deepak Wadhwani said that the programme will start with pooja of the Kuldevata Sai Jhulelal. Mohit Shewani along with Galaxy of Stars (Manjushree Asudani, Shubham Nathani, Ashok Sundrani, and Karan Khemani) will entertain the crowd. GND group will perform dance. The whole programme will be conducted by Mohit Shewani of Bhopal to be known as Sindhi’s Kapil Sharma.

Peter Dalwani, President of SSD, Rajeev Krishnani & Parmanand Jamtani & other dignitaries will  be present at the occassion. Prasadi & Thadal and Preeti Bhoj will be served to everyone, he added.
