The Maharashtra Congress has raised concerns regarding the unauthorized distribution of ‘Viksit Bharat’ pamphlets in the Karve Nagar area of Pune, urging swift action from the election authorities. Vice President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Mohan Joshi, submitted a formal complaint to Collector Suhas Divase, who serves as the returning officer for the Pune Lok Sabha seat, highlighting the potential violation of the model code of conduct.

In the complaint, Joshi emphasized the Election Commission’s previous directive to the Union government to halt the dissemination of ‘Viksit Bharat’ messages, underlining the gravity of the situation. He called for a thorough investigation into the origin and distribution of these booklets, stressing the need for accountability in ensuring fair and transparent electoral processes.

Responding to inquiries, Resident District Collector Jyoti Kadam confirmed the receipt of the complaint, assuring that it has been forwarded to the relevant assistant returning officer for further action. The incident underscores the importance of vigilance and adherence to electoral regulations to uphold the integrity of democratic practices.
