In a welcome move, the Maharashtra government has announced that the October and November installments of the Ladki Bahin Yojana will be paid out in October, ahead of Diwali. This decision is expected to bring relief and joy to the scheme’s beneficiaries.
Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Chairman of the Legislative Council, made the announcement during a press conference. “We are pleased to announce that the October and November installments will be paid together in October, bringing festive cheer to our beneficiaries,” she said.
The Ladki Bahin Yojana, launched by the state government, aims to economically empower women. Eligible beneficiaries receive ₹1,500 per month, totaling ₹18,000 annually, through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to their bank accounts.
In Pune district, 19.14 lakh applications have been approved, with only 5,000 rejected and 13,000 pending. Dr. Gorhe emphasized that the scheme has received an overwhelming response in rural areas.
This Diwali, Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries can look forward to a double installment, bringing financial respite and happiness to their families.
