The National Board Of Examinations in Medical Sciences ( NBEMS) will conduct the national-level entrance exam NEET ( National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master In Dental Surgery), on March 18 2024.

The NEET MDS entrance examination was earlier scheduled to be conducted on February 9 2024. It was stated by the All India Students Union (ASIU) on February 20 that the examination has been postponed to March 18 2024.

On Wednesday, All India Students Union (ASIU) tweeted saying, “On 8.02.2024, we filed an RTI to seek information about the NEET MDS postponement. Today we received a response stating that our representations are ‘under process’ in the Ministry.

The student union additionally pointed out the gap in the notice time, citing out the NEET MDS candidates received notice of the exam delays two months in advance as compared to NEET PG candidates who received 6 months in advance.

ASIU has further recommended NEET MDS be scheduled with NEET PG in July and has requested the authorities to reevaluate the current timetable.

According to the reports, it is noticed that the candidates appearing for NEET MDS Examinations mental health has severely been hampered due to the delay in the Examinations causing hindrance to their studies.

ASIU further stated its worry about the fact that dental students might have a long break from March until their internships are finished which could last for about 6-7 months which would cause hindrance in the studies of the candidates.
