FASTag Annual Pass Fee Increased To ₹3,075 From April 1, NHAI Announces
The National Highways Authority of India has increased the FASTag annual pass fee by Rs.75 for the financial year 2026–27, with the revised rate coming into effect from April 1.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has revised the fee for the FASTag Annual Pass, increasing it from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075 for the financial year 2026–27. The new rate will come into effect from April 1, according to an official announcement.
NHAI said the revision has been made in accordance with the provisions of the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008. The FASTag annual pass scheme has been witnessing steady growth, with more than 56 lakh private vehicle owners currently using the facility.
The FASTag Annual Pass was launched on August 15, 2025, to offer financial relief and convenience to frequent highway users. The pass allows eligible private vehicles to use national highway toll plazas without paying toll charges on every trip.
The annual pass is available only for private non-commercial vehicles, including cars, jeeps and vans with a valid FASTag. Vehicles used for commercial purposes are not eligible, and if a commercial vehicle uses the pass, it may be immediately deactivated.
Under the scheme, users receive a validity of 200 trips or one year, whichever is completed first. For point-based toll plazas, each crossing of the toll plaza is counted as one trip, while a round trip counts as two. In closed tolling systems, a single entry and exit pair is counted as one trip.
The annual FASTag pass is valid only at toll plazas on National Highways and National Expressways. At toll plazas operated by state governments, local authorities or on state highways, the FASTag works as a regular tag and the standard toll charges apply.
Users who want to activate the annual pass must ensure their FASTag and vehicle details are verified through the VAHAN database. After verification, the payment can be made through the Rajmargyatra mobile application or the official NHAI website. Once payment is completed, the pass is usually activated on the registered FASTag within about two hours.
NHAI clarified that the annual FASTag pass is optional and not mandatory for road users. Commuters who do not opt for the pass can continue using FASTag normally and pay toll charges per trip as usual.
