A still from the CCTV footage showing the moment a dog attacks a girl inside an elevator in Noida.

In a shocking incident caught on CCTV, a girl was attacked by a dog inside an elevator at Lotus 300 Society, located in Sector 107 of Noida. The footage, which spread quickly on social media, shows the girl standing in the elevator when suddenly a dog enters and bites her on the arm. The attack forces her back against the elevator wall and she clutches her arm in pain.

The video further captures a man who, upon the elevator doors opening, intervenes by shooing and kicking the dog away. Despite this, the dog tries to re-enter the elevator but eventually runs off as the doors begin to close. The girl, visibly shaken and in pain, appears to cry and wipes her face with her t-shirt before exiting the elevator when it reaches the ground floor.

This incident is part of a worrying increase in dog attacks in the region, particularly in the upscale areas of Gautam Buddha Nagar. Just a few months prior, another alarming episode involved a German Shepherd charging at a six-year-old in Ghaziabad, also caught on video and widely shared online.

Reacting to these incidents, the central government in March called on state authorities to ban the sale and breeding of 23 breeds considered dangerous, such as the Pitbull Terrier, American Bulldog, Rottweiler, and Mastiffs. Owners of these breeds are also urged to have their pets sterilized. This move aims to curb the rising menace and ensure public safety against potentially aggressive dogs.
