The meeting was called to discuss the impending issues related to road, encroachment, overhead wires, alignment of road and encroachments. Dhakne in his on ground visit to the area instructed various departments to remove the encroachments causing congestion at various points such as NIBM road’s Bakers Point, Clover Pinnacle Ridge, Ishratbaug, Kad Nagar chowk, etc.

He spoke to residents of the area and assured him that the works of alignment of road Palace Orchard to Kad Nagar will transform the area. He instructed the encroachment, garden, electrical department, drainage department to resolve the issues that are affecting congestion and ensure that the works are completed in the next two months.

The officials of the road department informed that the height of the road will be reduced by upto 4 meters from Clover Hills and Ishratbaug (kutccha road leading to D Mart near Royale Heritage Mall). This solves the problem of accidents and also ends the uneven gradient of the road.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Parveen Tambe of NIBM Undri Residents Forum said, “This was one of the major works needed in our area for a very long time. We constantly followed up with the Pune Municipal Corporation with immense support from former corporator Nanda Lonkar. The continuous accidents on the road and congestion of vehicles on the road would bring us to a standstill everyday. Our demand of concretisation of the road between Marvel Sangria to Dorabjee Paradise has also been approved and work shall start soon.”

Prajakta Pethkar from Palace Orchards said, “We had raised various issues related to road problems. Most of them have been addressed to and in the coming few months we are hoping that the PMC transforms our area into a safe suburb with adequate amenities.”

Former corporator Nanda Lonkar, said, “The meeting was called to discuss and share with the officials the problems faced by the citizens. I am happy to inform you that just like the Cloud 9 gradient, similar work will be carried out on NIBM Undri road which will help in curbing congestion on the road. PMC also instructed to remove the encroachments and free junctions from chronic encroachments. The overhead cables at many locations will be relocated which allow more space on the road.”

Deepa Cheema, founder president of Nyati County Residents Forum also handed over a letter to the PMC asking for developments on many roads in Mohamadwadi and Undri roads. The letter stated construction and widening of road from Marvel Isola to Nyati Chowk, Nyati Chowk to Dhanashree Angan, construction of proper road from Nyati Estate to Country Club, removal of overhead cables, widening and removal of encroachments from Kad Nagar to Undri chowk, construction of proper road from Princetown Royal to D Mart in Kondhwa and many other roads.”

Rashid Shaikh, a resident of Clover Pinnacle Ridge informed the officials about the illegal tapris and hoardings developed in the area. A prompt action was initiated by the PMC who removed the hoardings and also the pan stall outside Clover Pinnacle Ridge.
