MAHARASHTRA: Maharashtra is set to experience a sharp rise in temperatures from the very first day of March, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a heat alert for several regions across the state. According to the weather department, maximum temperatures are expected to increase by 2–4°C, with conditions remaining mainly dry, hot, and clear to partly cloudy.
The heat trend, which began intensifying in February, is likely to strengthen further in early March, marking an aggressive start to the summer season across Maharashtra.

Konkan Region
Cities including Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg will continue to face humid and hot weather.
- Mumbai temperature: 29–32°C (max) and 23–25°C (min)
- High humidity will make conditions uncomfortably sultry, intensifying heat stress.
Western Maharashtra
Pune, Satara, Sangli, and Kolhapur will experience dry and hot conditions.
- Pune temperature: 32–34°C (max) and 15–18°C (min)
North Maharashtra
Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon, and Nandurbar will witness a steady rise in temperatures.
- Nashik temperature: 33–35°C (day) and 17–20°C (night)
Marathwada Region
Jalna, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, and Dharashiv (Osmanabad) will face hot and dry weather.
- Temperature range: 34–36°C (max) and 18–21°C (min)
Vidarbha Region
The highest temperatures are expected in Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Buldhana.
- Temperature range: 35–38°C (max) and 20–23°C (min)
- In eastern Vidarbha, winter conditions have almost ended, and intense sunlight is expected throughout the day.
