Pune: India has achieved a significant milestone at the Asian Games 2023, surpassing its previous records by securing the highest number of medals in the tournament’s history. 

As of October 4, India’s medal count stands at an impressive 82, comprising 19 gold medals, 31 silver medals, and 32 bronze medals. 

On the aforementioned date, Indian athletes Manju Rani and Ram Baboo secured the bronze medal in the 35km race walk mixed team event. Additionally, Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Pravin Ojas Deotale clinched the gold medal in the Compound Archery Mixed Team event. Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh concluded their performance with a bronze medal in squash mixed doubles.

Furthermore, boxer Parveen Hooda concluded her campaign with a bronze medal. The highlight of October 4 will undoubtedly be the highly talented Neeraj Chopra, who will strive for a gold medal in the men’s javelin throw final. The event is scheduled to commence at 4:35 PM, according to Indian Standard Time.

2. Lovlina Borgohain, an Indian boxer, achieved the silver medal in the 75kg category.

3. The Indian Men’s hockey team advanced to the finals after a 5-3 victory over South Korea.

4. Sunil Kumar of India emerged victorious against Atabek Azisbekov of Kyrgyzstan in the men’s greco-roman 87kg bronze medal match.

5. Harmilan Bains has earned the silver medal for India in the women’s 800m event.

6. Avinash Sable of India finished second in the 5000m final, securing the silver medal.
