Dr. B S Murthy, Project Director of the System of Air Quality and Forecasting Research at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology Pune, expressed his enthusiasm for the competition, stating, “Through this competition organized for kids, children can showcase their ideas on e-waste. The aim of this poster making competition is to raise awareness about the significance of waste management and how we can reduce e-waste. The rapidly deteriorating quality of our environment is posing immense challenges to our daily lives and endangering various species. Therefore, I am confident that this initiative will encourage people to adopt proper e-waste handling practices.”

The competition invites children to submit their entries directly to the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology Pune until June 2nd, 2023, by 3 pm. Out of the received submissions, five entries will be selected to receive exciting prizes.

The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology Pune calls upon all young Punekars to participate in this competition and inspire others to do the same. This unique event presents an excellent opportunity for young minds to contribute their artistic skills and create awareness about the importance of responsible e-waste management. By joining hands in this endeavor, the youth can play an active role in safeguarding our environment for future generations.
