In a stunning achievement, Jasprit Bumrah, India’s star pacer, has become the fastest Indian fast bowler to secure 150 Test wickets.

This milestone was reached in just 33 matches, surpassing the records set by legendary pacers Glenn McGrath and Jeff Thompson, who took 34 games to achieve the same feat.

Bumrah’s remarkable performance in the second Test against England saw him clinch six wickets, including prominent batters like Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes.

This stellar comeback follows his recovery from a back injury that kept him sidelined for nearly a year. In the absence of Bumrah, India faced challenges in the pace department, making his return to form a crucial asset for the team.

Making his Test debut in 2018, Bumrah’s unique combination of speed, movement, and crafty variations, including well-disguised slower deliveries, has made him a formidable opponent for batsmen worldwide.

His current display on Day 2 of the second Test, where he claimed six wickets and limited England to a total of 253, underscores his prowess as a key contributor to India’s bowling attack.

Despite a strong start from Zak Crawley, who scored 76, England consistently lost wickets at regular intervals, and Bumrah’s performance played a pivotal role in establishing a significant lead of 143 for the home team.

This achievement solidifies Bumrah’s position as a key asset for Indian cricket, marking his exceptional contribution to the team’s success.
