Kasarsai Dam Reaches 80% Capacity : Water Discharge May Happen within 6-12 Hours

With consistent rainfall since yesterday, the Kasarsai Dam is 80 percent full. Due to continuous rains in the dam area, the dam level is increasing rapidly. If the rain continues/increases and if the inflow increases, there is a high possibility of starting discharge of water from the dam spillway into the Kasarasai Nala basin within 6 to 12 hours depending on the situation. 

“Citizens should not enter the riverbed and any similar materials or animals in the riverbed should be moved immediately. Citizens of low lying areas should take proper precautions,” said Assistant Engineer -Grade 1, Khadkawasala Canal Sub Division No. 2, Pune.
