Ladki Bahin Yojana: Has the Launch Happened? 10,000 Applications Rejected in Pune, Screening of Unresolved Applications Begins
Following the formation of the Maharashtra government, the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme has been successfully initiated. The implementation of various actions related to this scheme was paused due to the assembly election code of conduct. However, with the state government now in place, the review of pending applications for the scheme has resumed.
As reported by the Women and Child Welfare Department, 20,84,000 women in the Pune district have benefited from the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme. By October 15, 2024, a total of 21,11,363 applications have been approved for this initiative. Some applications are still under review, and this process is currently being addressed.
There has been an increase in the number of ineligible applications. Officials have stated that 9,814 applications in Pune district have been marked as ineligible for various reasons. Some applications were missing required documents, while others did not meet specific criteria. Additionally, 5,814 applications were temporarily rejected due to minor errors.
Situation in Pune City.
In Pune city, a total of 682,055 women have submitted applications for the scheme. Out of these, 667,040 have been approved, while 3,494 have been deemed ineligible. The application approval process in Pune has been quite effective.
Haveli Taluka has the highest number.
Haveli taluka has the highest number of applications, with 419,859 submitted. Of these, 415,510 have been approved, and 1,166 have been declared ineligible. Due to the strong response from women in Haveli, a special procedure is being implemented to manage these applications.
Screening of new applications underway.
There are still 12,000 applications undergoing screening, and this process is expected to conclude soon. The scheme aims to provide women with financial support and various welfare services, benefiting those across the state.
Applicants in Pune district are encouraged to check their application status on the official Women and Child Welfare Department website. By doing so, they can make any necessary corrections to ensure they can take advantage of the scheme.
Announcement of new scheme expected.
After the state government finishes the remaining processes of the current scheme, they will soon announce more details about the next phases of the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme. This significant initiative by the government aims to provide women in the state with easier access to various facilities and support.
