Mumbai: The state of Maharashtra continues to experience heavy rainfall, with the meteorological department issuing a high alert for the next 12 hours. Rainfall is expected to intensify, particularly in the districts placed on high alert.
As per the latest weather reports, Maharashtra will likely see intense rainfall over the next four days. The meteorological department has issued an alert, warning of heavy showers across the state from July 17 to July 19. Despite a slight decrease in rain intensity yesterday, the forecast indicates a resurgence of heavy downpours in the coming days.
Mumbai Faces Orange Alert Due to Heavy Rainfall
Mumbai is currently under an orange alert, with expectations of heavy rainfall today. Over the last 24 hours, the city experienced moderate showers, but the intensity is predicted to increase significantly. Residents are advised to stay cautious and be prepared for possible disruptions.
Red Alert for Raigad and Ratnagiri
Raigad district remains under a red alert due to severe rainfall, which has already caused flooding in several areas. Ratnagiri has also been issued a red alert, indicating potential heavy rainfall and related hazards. Additionally, districts such as Thane, Palghar, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur, Parbhani, Wardha, Amravati, and Satara are under an orange alert.
The meteorological department forecasts extremely heavy rainfall in parts of the Konkan region for the next four to five days, urging residents to remain vigilant. Authorities are on high alert and are taking necessary precautions to manage the situation.
Heavy Rainfall Expected in Northern and Central Maharashtra
Isolated areas in northern and central Maharashtra are also expected to experience significant rainfall. Similarly, Vidarbha is predicted to receive substantial showers today.
Overall, the meteorological department has highlighted the importance of the next four days for Maharashtra, with continuous heavy rain expected. Alerts have been issued not only for Maharashtra but also for Kerala, Goa, Karnataka, and Gujarat, indicating widespread heavy rainfall across these regions.
