In a recent development, municipal authorities took decisive action against unauthorized construction at Creative Public School, operated by the Creative Academy Education Society in Ravet.

The school, situated in the Ravet area, faced scrutiny from municipal authorities for engaging in unauthorized construction activities. This action was initiated despite opposition from parents, and the municipal corporation conducted a thorough inspection to ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations.

The incident unfolded when Naushad Shaikh, the director of Creative Public English Medium School, allegedly subjected a tenth-grade student to harassment at his residence. The matter came to light, resulting in a legal complaint and subsequent police involvement. As a consequence, Shaikh faced legal charges, including accusations of harassment, prompting municipal authorities to conduct an inspection of the school premises.

During the inspection, it was revealed that the school lacked the necessary standards and documentation required under the Right to Education Act.

The municipal authorities emphasized the importance of providing free and compulsory education, pointing out the absence of essential facilities and documentation. This development aligns with the broader initiative to uphold the rights of students and maintain the quality of education in compliance with existing laws.

In addition to the school’s unauthorized construction, issues related to building permits, occupancy, and adherence to safety regulations were brought to light. The municipal authorities have recommended the cancellation of recognition and operation of Creative Public School in Ravet. This decision follows the inspection’s findings, which highlighted unauthorized construction in various sections of the school, totaling 6,060 square feet.

The municipal corporation, led by Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, initiated the action to address the unauthorized construction and maintain adherence to educational standards. The concerned officials, including City Engineer Makarand Nikam, Deputy Commissioner Manoj Lonkar, Regional Officer Amit Pandit, and Regional Office staff, played pivotal roles in overseeing and executing the corrective measures.

The municipality has also suggested canceling the recognition and operation of Creative Academy Education Society’s Creative Public School in Ravet.

The decisive action aims to uphold educational standards, safety regulations, and the rights of students as mandated by the law. The inspection’s comprehensive findings have shed light on the need for stringent measures to ensure the integrity and compliance of educational institutions in the region.
