PCMC Takes Action Against 27 Illegal Commercial Constructions In Blue Flood Zone

Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Encroachment Department recently conducted a survey of constructions within the blue flood zones of the Pavana, Mula, and Indrayani rivers. Following the survey, action against illegal commercial constructions began on Tuesday, September 24. The department has prioritized addressing unauthorized commercial structures, with 27 illegal constructions targeted in the B, D, and E ward offices on Tuesday. The encroachment department has confirmed that further action will be taken to completely remove these constructions.

Details Of Demolition Drive 

At the ‘B’ regional office, action was taken against six unauthorized commercial constructions, demolishing around 5,500 square feet of area with the help of 20 MSF personnel and two JCB machines. 

At the ‘D’ regional office, 11 illegal brick structures and tin sheds were demolished, covering about 16,000 square feet. The operation involved regional officers, three encroachment superintendents, eight beat inspectors, 10 police officers, and 15 laborers, along with two JCBs and a tractor breaker. 

Similarly, at the ‘E’ regional office, 10 illegal commercial constructions were demolished, covering approximately 16,400 square feet. The operation was carried out with the help of four regional officers, one encroachment superintendent, six beat inspectors, 30 police officers, and 15 laborers, using two JCB machines.
