Pimpri Chinchwad police cancels 194 driving licenses for repeatedly flouting traffic rules

Pune: The police in Pimpri-Chinchwad have taken decisive action by cancelling 194 driving licenses of individuals who have repeatedly violated traffic rules. This action is part of the ongoing efforts by the local police to promote a strong sense of responsibility and unwavering adherence to traffic norms among the city’s drivers. Pimpri Chinchwad has seen a significant improvement in road safety and strict enforcement of traffic regulations.
Dada Hole, a senior Police Inspector said, “Since the beginning of this year until August 18, we have submitted a proposal to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) to revoke the licenses of 596 habitual traffic rules flouters. Out of this group, 194 licenses have already been cancelled, and further steps are underway. A letter will be sent to the RTO to revoke the remaining licenses. We urge people to wear helmets and not use mobiles while driving. In case someone is found driving triple seat or intoxicated while driving their licenses will be strictly revoked. “
Officials familiar with the situation explained that the 194 individuals whose licenses were revoked have flouted traffic rules several times. The police authorities considered the accumulation of these points as sufficient grounds for cancelling their licenses, aiming to send a strong message to the community about the importance of road safety and strict rule compliance.
