Pune, June 2, 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Police conducted a month-long special enforcement drive in May 2026, taking action against 62,070 traffic violators and collecting approximately ₹6.75 crore in fines.

According to the Traffic Branch of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate, the drive was carried out across key areas including Chakan, Bhosari, Talegaon, Hinjawadi, Talawade and Chikhali. The commissionerate’s jurisdiction covers major industrial zones and important highways, resulting in heavy traffic movement and a growing number of vehicles on city roads.

Police said rapid urban growth and increasing use of two-wheelers and four-wheelers have led to a rise in traffic violations and road accidents. To improve road safety and enforce traffic discipline, the department regularly conducts action against motorists violating traffic rules.
