Pimpri News : Mock fire drill held at various institutions by PCMC

Pimpri-Chinchwad: Pimpri Chinchwad fire brigade department recently conducted a mock drill at various locations including a government school, Tata plant, and Elpro city mall, as part of the National Fire Service Week. The aim of the drill was to raise awareness about fire safety and educate people on how to respond in the event of a fire.

According to Rushikant Chipade, a fire brigade official, “A mock drill was being conducted and will be conducted as part of the Firebrigade service week. To create awareness of these, a mock drill has been conducted at Government school, Tata motors plant, Elpro city mall, and will be conducted at places where more people gather.”

The National Fire Service Day is observed on April 14 every year to pay homage to the commitment and sacrifice of the 71 Fire Service personnel during an unfortunate mishap in Bombay in 1944. The week-long event is meant to bring awareness to fire safety and highlight the importance of fire safety measures in various industries.

The mock drills conducted by the Pimpri Chinchwad fire brigade department will help to prepare people for potential fire hazards and teach them how to respond in such situations. The drills were conducted in a realistic manner, providing a valuable learning experience for all participants.

This exercise was successfully conducted along with the esteemed Fire department of PCMC to tackle all such eventualities and coordinate with the fire department for speedy action and resolution on the ground. We are thankful to Vijay Thorat Assistant Commissioner and Rushikant Chipade from PCMC fire department for their guidance and support for conducting this drill successfully,” said Deepak Kumar, CMD, Elpro International Ltd.
